Marvin BELL was born December 16th, 1923 in Bisbee, Cochise County, Arizona. He was Private first class in the 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment, "G" Company, when he was killed in action in the first attack of "Ridge X" in the Col de Braus, September 9th, 1944. He is burried in Pomona Valley Memorial Park, California.

Richard BEDNARZ was born September 20th, 1924, in schulenburg, Fayette County, Texas. Richard enlisted 10 april 1942 at San Antonio, and joined the newly formed 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment in 1943. After a short campaign in Italy, he jumped in southern France August 15th, 1944. Following the advance of his unit, he is in September in the maritimes alps. Walter VANDERPOOL was born August 27th, 1924 in Tioga County, New York. In 1944, he is a Pvt in the 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment, "D Company. In November, while Sospel is liberated after weeks of hard battles, they decided with his platoon to take a rest in a large nice looking empty house. The Germans anticipated the americans would take up quarters there and rigged it with a time delayed device booby trapped.
